The Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) is comprised of ten member states--including Kentucky.  The annual convention and competition each spring offers theatres from around this ten state region to compete and share ideas through seminars and roundtable      discussions.

The American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) is the national voice of community theatre.  MCTI is a founding member.  AACT represents the interests of more than 7,000 theatres across the United States and its territories, as well as theatre companies with the armed forces overseas.  AACT is the steward of the National Adjudicated Festival for Community Theatres, held every two years.  Participants in this festival may receive awards of excellence, and invitations to perform at theatre festivals in other parts of the world.

As a state agency in the Commerce Cabinet, the Arts Council is funded by state budget allocations, as determined by the General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.  The Arts Council, in turn, provides arts-focused grants and programs or services to every county in Kentucky.  The Arts Council also provides information resources through conferences, workshops, publications and directories, web communications, data sharing, personal consultations and referrals to Kentucky counties.  The Arts Council plays a critical role in promoting cultural tourism, enhancing economic development, and securing a strong foothold for the arts in education.
